Tyler Donato
Attorney
Tyler enjoys educating and counseling clients regarding their intellectual property rights, as well as providing effective IP management strategies. He has extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of utility patents, design patents, and trademarks. Tyler also has experience advising clients on patentability, trademark registrability, freedom to operate, and infringement. Tyler also has experience handling UDRP domain name disputes. He also enjoys counseling local artists on a pro bono basis.
Tyler has experience in the following areas of technology: consumer electronics and other consumer products, paper products, construction equipment, commercial vehicle systems, coil-wound heat exchangers, electrical heating systems, medical and dental devices, hand tools, sporting goods, apparel, furniture, and wireless power transmission systems.
Prior to joining Design IP, Tyler worked for multiple intellectual property boutique law firms in the Philadelphia area. During law school, Tyler interned for The Honorable Gregory M. Sleet in the U.S. District Court of Delaware, where he assisted drafting bench memoranda for complex patent litigation trials. He also served in Drexel’s pro bono estate planning clinic. Prior to his legal career, Tyler conducted research in the areas of thin metallic film deposition and supercapacitor construction at Rowan University in New Jersey.
Tyler lives in the Greater Philadelphia area and enjoys staying active by running, hiking, and playing disc golf.
